Narcissus and datura make an unusual opening pair, green and faintly narcotic rather than the peach and plum you'd expect from a fragrance like this, though the fruit does show up a moment later alongside black currant. Leather turns up in the heart too, an odd, dark thread running under all that tuberose and jasmine.

Vanilla, amber and tonka bean fill out the base, animalic at the edges, and this is also where the fragrance turns genuinely noticeable, carrying with real confidence and outlasting most of the florals it started with, still recognizable long after the datura and leather have quieted down. Musk and cedar give the base a drier, woodier edge against all that vanilla.

Mimosa and heliotrope add a powdery sweetness to the middle, balancing narcissus's greener, stranger side with something softer and more familiar.

The powdery floral warmth feels most at home in fall and winter, though spring works reasonably well too. It's a genuinely unusual, slightly vintage fragrance built on tuberose and leather together, confident enough for daytime wear despite how much it projects into the room around it.
