La Nuit Trésor

Lancôme leans hard into gourmand darkness with La Nuit Trésor, opening on pear and tangerine before strawberry and black rose pull it toward something denser and redder within minutes. Passionfruit and vanilla orchid keep a tropical thread running through the heart, an odd but effective contrast against the black rose, sweet and slightly sour at once.

The base is where it gets serious: praline, caramel, and coffee sit alongside patchouli, incense, licorice, and papyrus, turning the sweetness into something closer to a spiced dessert wine than plain candy. Coumarin adds a soft, hay-like warmth underneath all of it, rounding out edges that could otherwise feel sharp. Christophe Raynaud and Amandine Clerc-Marie clearly built this for cold-weather wear, and it shows: fall and winter are where the composition actually makes sense, when warmth and spice read as comforting rather than heavy-handed.

It holds its ground stubbornly once it's on and leaves a trail as it wears, a fragrance built to be noticed in a way the daytime pear and tangerine never suggested on their own. Night is clearly its home base, far more than daylight hours ever will be.

Anyone who wants something light or citrus-driven should be warned: those top notes vanish fast, and everything after is dark, sweet, and spiced.
