This Privacy Policy explains how Sillage ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use the website sillage.style (the "Site") and the Sillage AI mobile application for Android and iOS, package style.sillage.ai (the "App"). Together we call them the "Service". By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Search queries. The descriptions you type into the search, in the App and on the Site, are processed to generate fragrance matches.
• Account data (optional). If you sign in with Google or with Apple, we receive and store the authentication identifier issued by that provider, your email address, your display name and your profile picture URL, as supplied by the provider.
• Activity tied to your account. If you are signed in, we store your saved favorites, your search history, the perfumes you viewed, and a taste profile derived from that activity, so we can personalise recommendations.
• Usage data. Standard technical data such as IP address, device or browser type, requested pages and referring URLs, recorded automatically by our servers when the App or the Site calls our API.
• Cookies (Site only). On the Site we and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality and analytics. One of them, sil_js, is set on every page and is strictly necessary: it records only that your browser ran our JavaScript, which is how we tell a visitor from an automated script before spending computing resources on a search. It holds no identifier and is never used for analytics or advertising. The App does not use advertising identifiers and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, files, calendar, call logs or messages, and the App requests no such permissions.

How we use information

• To provide and improve fragrance search and recommendations.
• To maintain your account, favorites and search history (if you sign in).
• To measure traffic, and to operate and secure the Service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or for training third-party AI models.

Third-party services

To deliver the Service we share limited data with the following providers, each of which handles data under its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In — sign-in and identity. We never see or store your Google password.
• Sign in with Apple — sign-in and identity, when you choose it.
• OpenAI and Anthropic — the text of your search query is sent to these AI providers to interpret it and generate matches. We do not send them your name, email or account identifier.
• Google Analytics — traffic measurement on the Site only; it is not present in the App.
• Our hosting and database providers — storage and delivery of the Service.

Our servers and providers operate in the European Union and the United States, so your data may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.

Your choices and rights

• You can use the App and the Site as a guest; signing in is optional and only adds favorites, history and personalisation.
• You can control cookies through your browser settings.
• You can delete your account and its data at any time from the Profile tab in the App, using Delete account at the bottom of the screen. See Delete your account for the full procedure, including deletion by email if you no longer have the App installed.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.

Data retention & security

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, and delete account data when you delete your account. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and we apply reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
