Détour Noir is built on musk. This material runs through the range here, sitting at the base of compositions that lean powdery, woody and musky. Amber and sandalwood appear repeatedly, giving the scents a warm, dry foundation. Rose is also a frequent presence, adding a floral facet that sits alongside the warm spicy accord found across many of the releases. The overall character stays close to these accords, with the powdery and woody tones carrying through from one scent to another. Amber and spice turn up alongside the musk, shaping a profile that favours familiar materials used in combination rather than shifting between unrelated directions.
